Canoes and Kayaks

Whether you opt for the traditional canoe or the nimble kayak, Llandegfedd Lake’s calm waters present the perfect canvas for your paddling masterpiece.

Safety is paramount and equipment rentals are available for those who don’t have their own gear.

So, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a curious beginner, Llandegfedd Lake welcomes you to embark on an unforgettable Welsh Water Adventure!

What is the difference between a canoe and a kayak?

Put simply the difference lies in the paddle and the position of the paddler. If you choose a canoe you will kneel or sit on a bench with a single bladed paddle. If you choose a kayak you will generally be seated, legs outstretched with a double bladed paddle. It’s also about paddle technique.

Whichever you chose, the important thing is to get out on the water and enjoy yourself!
